THEATRE ARTS BEGINNING 6TH Grade
The course includes basic theatre concepts as practiced through warm-ups,, puppetry, pantomime and improvisation activities; Skills in speech including oral interpretation,, enunciation projection and characterization development are practiced in skits created by the students from simple prompts
THEATRE ARTS INTERMEDIATE 7th/8th Grade
The course includes stage and acting terminology, rehearsed published works, film analysis and the study of cultural and historical implications imbedded in play literature. Students continue warm ups and improvisational activities as well.
THEATRE ARTS ADVANCE 7th/8th Grade
This class teaches advanced acting techniques. Students perform for One Act Play competition and act in and produce school plays.
Membership in the International Junior Thespian Society is drawn from this group of students as are the troupe #88455 officers.
This group sponsors events such as the Covington Talent Show and Valentines Dance.
Out of school rehearsal and performances are required.
This class emphasizes the technical aspect of theatre production, including set work, set building, set decorating, counterweight system, light and sound operation. Students use computer technology to access production information for events performed on the Covington Theatre stage. Out of school rehearsals and performances are required.
