Social Emotional Learning

COVINGTON IS A SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL) DEMONSTRATION SCHOOL.

As a model program, SEL serves as a framework for all that we do.

SEL is the process through which children and adults acquire, and effectively apply, the knowledge, attitude, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions; set and achieve positive goals; feel and show empathy for others; and establish and maintain positive relationships.

We are proud of this district designation, in recognition of the special connected learning community at Covington, and the unique ways that we take care of the WHOLE child, EVERY child, EVERY day.
